Guilty...

For those who have not checked out my friend Nolen's blog (nolenlee.com), you've been missing out. Partly, you've been missing out on his latest little illustrations and documentations of my dating life (There should be a disclaimer: Not real dating life. I have no dating life.) In one posts, he leaves off with Puddles (a polar bear and turtle cross-breed) looking rather heart-broken as his new friend (darn you maniac-bumble bee-looking trouble maker, who still needs a name!) reveals photos of me on another date...
What am I to say? Guilty?

Well, if I am guilty, it is that I am guilty of being a young single gal living in Seattle and having trouble finding a great guy. I mean just look at the sleuth of dates I've been on! A dinosaur, a robot, Count Chocola, the Pope, even a date with Death! While I adore Puddles, I must say we never said we couldn't see other people... or animals or life-forms of other kind for that matter. How am I suppose to know how Puddles really feels? He's kinda shy. I think someone really just needs to be clear with his intentions. It's what any gentlemen (or gentle-polar burtle) would do ;)

I didn't mean to hurt you Puddles. I still like you. I just want you to know that we're really both victims to the evil plots of a certain trouble maker. He forgot to show you THIS photo!

(Ok, so I don't draw as well as Nolen and I don't have a fancy tablet I can draw on. I drew this in my sketch book, took a picture of it and edited with Photoshop. Sorry for the bad quality.)
***********************
Hahahaha. All jokes aside, I know in real life, I am guilty of not being good with communicating verbally how I feel either. Whether it be to guys or to girls, at work or at home. I'm not good with words so I've always thought my actions were sufficient. Action speaks louder than words, right? However, as of late, I've realized that perhaps what I thought was clear has not been so clear. It appears I have been misunderstood.

It makes me think of Jesus standing in front of the Sanhedrin when he was on trial. He stayed silent for the most part but when he was asked to confirm whether he was the Christ, he spoke up. And boy, did he speak up (see Matthew 26:57-68). His words made the high priest so upset that he sentenced Jesus to death! Hmm... actually, maybe speaking up will get you hurt... Ok, bad example... How about the time Jesus scribbled in the sand (see past post about it here). Jesus let his actions speak for itself but his words also made his message even more powerful and clear.

Perhaps I need to be more verbal to compliment my actions and use words to describe what I'm doing so there's no misunderstanding.
